Joshua wants to reconcile with Usyk

After losing the boxing match against Oleksandr Usyk, England’s heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has said he will return to action against his opponent, who has won all the WBA, WBO and IBF belts he holds.

Joshua, who climbed into the ring yesterday at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, England in a 12-round bout, said he was hit by a Ukrainian heavyweight champion after a bullet in his eye.

“I couldn’t see the ninth round. I couldn’t see anything because my eyes were closed. I used the experience because you have to learn how to control yourself in all things.

“I want to go back to the gym and I have to go back down and improve my ability when I come back to face this good boxer, it was a good lesson for me, I know everyone can interpret this as they see it, but for me I took it as a class that built me.”

“I am an animal of difference this is a blessed opportunity to climb the ladder to play at high weight, I do not return home crying because this is a war and this is a long-term exercise not the only fight I have completed,” he said and added:

“I don’t want to look at my opponent, I want to look at myself where I made a mistake, he was not the best.

The boxer’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, said Joshua respected the 34-year-old Usyk, which is why he put on his three WBA, WBO and IBF belts which he lost after bursting over his eye.

“I’ve never seen AJ reach 10 rounds, but in the last two years maybe this is something we should look at.”

“He’s going to see what he’s going to do about Oleksandr Usyk. How he’s going to beat him and what he’s going to do to improve his level,” said Hearn.
